Berries & BarBQ Wine Trail Showcases the Flavors of Summer

Luscious berries, savory BarBQ and cool, fragrant wine cellars make for a memorable Wine Country weekend.
Hermann-area vintners continue their crowd-pleasing ways July 24 and 25 with the Berries & BarBQ Wine Trail. Visitors will have a chance to sample delectable food and wine pairings at seven stops on the Hermann Wine Trail, which winds for 20 scenic miles along the Missouri River between Hermann and New Haven.
• Adam Puchta Winery — Pappy’s Smokehouse Barnyard Delight, served with Jazzberry BBQ sauce, paired with Rosé and Vignoles
• Bias Winery — Marinated Barbecue Chicken Skewers, paired with Fresh Berry Spritzers
• Dierberg Star Lane — Hula Brats (Pineapple Brats Skewered with Strawberries and Gooseberries), paired with 2007 Sauvignon Blanc
• Hermannhof Winery — Grilled Peach Melba, served with Berry Coulis, paired with Vignoles

Participants also will have a chance to enter a drawing for a one-night stay at a Hermann bed and breakfast, plus $30 gift certificates from each of the wineries.

Held each year the last full weekend of July, Berries & BarBQ Wine Trail is one of five annual Wine Trail events. Holiday Fare Wine Trail is the third weekend of November, Say Cheese Wine Trail is the second weekend of December, Chocolate Wine Trail is the third weekend of February, and Norton Wine Trail is the first weekend of May.
